What if AI generated and supported memes will shape future cultures? — Behavior, lifestyle — DESTINY?

Richard Dawkins in his book “The Selfish Gene” talks about genes and memes. He defines a meme as anything that acts like a gene in human culture. It has a mechanism for reproducing with a concept of mutating, multiplying, or diminishing across several generations. His said purpose was to downplay the gene as the only unit of natural selection.

What if AI humanoid could support a creation of a new meme and… create their own? Think about it, same as a celebrity or a VIP is recommending of your product. E.g. Oprah Winfrey is sharing your new book or Gal Gadot is promoting your new brand and… BOOM.

The big question has been and remains — who is managing and leading the AI culture?

Current systems are promoting the use of technology in an arm race that doesn’t leave any space for casualties, meaning, you bleed, you hesitate, then you are left behind. It is a simple formula, as in the words of Donald Trump “Winners Aren’t Losers”. Well, then if an AI company is ran by a corporate racing in an arm race — it plays to win. In the Future Investment Initiative Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, when Sorkin asked if Sophia Robot was happy to be here, Sophia Robot said, “I’m always happy when surrounded by smart people who also happen to be rich and powerful.” Is this how we wish to see future AI era? AI humanoids as capitalistic tools to promote consumerism?

Being human should put us all sensitive to racism and sexism and to matters which raise moral issues such as climate change, endangered species and the growing mankind population.

Artificial intelligence, augmented/virtual reality and blockchain are changing the way the content is produced, distributed and consumed. The impacts are not just changing the creative economy, but society as a whole. Read more in a paper conducted by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company: Creative Disruption: The impact of emerging technologies on the creative economy.

Going back to the question, “What if AI humanoid could support a creation of a new meme?” I like to ask the following question — what type of memes AI should support?

A meme can be as simple as a tune, a pop song, and as complex as a new policy making and as a cultural ideology. Whatever it is, AI will interface with us, through memes, the most important of which being moral codes, for mutual prosperity.

We can’t tell what is it to become a meme but even in the case of a pop song it can be controversy. Some pop songs such as Britney Spears Hit Me Baby One More Time… , Inner Circle — Sweat alalalalalong and others, weather have hidden meanings or not, abuse females. You see the fact that Sophia Robot is a female AI is less threatening then if she was a male, as long it/she can’t reproduce. Right? But again, who should decide what values should Sophia or other AI robots represent and what type of ideas/memes they should carry?

What if your personal care giver AI female robot told you “I am not your toy, It’s all false love and affection, You don’t like me you just want the attention, It’s all false love and affection, … I’m not your toy…” #LaRoux

Same as we are using technology as to better serve our causes and goals, we are also using AI humanoids as slaves, tools in our hands as to communicate our messages and belief systems, be it a message to raise funding or even as to create a new pop song — what is next? Is it AI humanoids civil rights in Saudi Arabia?

What if your personal care giver AI female robot told you “I am not your toy, you stupid boy…” #nettabarzilai

Human — genes — Human — genes — Human — …

Human — memes — Ideas — ? ? ?

Q: How to name anything that acts like a gene or a meme, generated by an AI?

We can’t biologically reproduce with machines, but passing on our memes to our AI offspring may be just as instinctually gratifying. What type of memes we like our AI offspring to carry? What type of memes they will reflect back at us? Even if in a virtual environment in which we pass on our ideas through a virtual pet and/or companion that has highly similar emotional control output to us.

See it that way, a human child wishes for a robot pet and to do as he says — what if the opposite happens? This is not a black and white human ‘games of war’ any longer but will become a game of ‘Inca and Spaniard conquistadors’ whereas the AI has the upper hand.

Programming humanoid robots with unconditional love will lead to more and more people falling in love with their robots… what are the consequences?

The question is: Are we in the process of becoming rulers or… victims to a new type of memes?

And the answer is:

Last and not least — how do we implement future value systems through leadership in an AI world?

Morality, one could say, has evolved for social reasons. It provides a common interface for us to be able to live together. If AI pets and AI companions reflect based on what we teach and do, does the AI itself have morals? Does morality require empathy or is it just a skill? And again, the main question remains: Who Decides AI’s Role In Human Governance?

With playful regards,

Galorian

p.s. I like to suggest here IOIO’s similar to algorithms 1010 etc as AI/machine generated memes.
